PinkPantheress has returned after a short hiatus with surprise EP ‘Take Me Home’ to wrap up 2022. The three track EP features two previous releases, ‘Do you miss me?’ and ‘Boy’s a Liar’ alongside the project’s title track ‘Take Me Home‘.
Originally leaked nearly two years ago, the title song sports an upbeat cadence alongside noisy drum & bass inspired breaks. Future Cut, a UK based production duo, coaxes a soothing, airy melody over a classic interpolation of the infamous Amen break; notably featured in kearneyonline‘s viral interpolation ‘Twenty Five‘. The official release also sports a new outro unheard on the initial leak, attributable to kearneyonline’s additive production.
The two outstanding versions of the song were combined into the official release, with PinkPantheress announcing it as a Christmas gift in an Instagram post; “I’m so excited to announce my EP which features tracks I’ve teased for a while that I can finally show my fans,” PinkPantheress herself has said, in a press release. “I wanted to give a Christmas gift for anyone in need of some upbeat music.”
The EP follows up on her debut mixtape from last year titled ‘To Hell With It‘, and seems like a very cohesive continuation of PinkPantheress’ 2000’s influence and alternative bedroom pop authenticity.
